A Quick Update …

Since I started using the "Lose It" app on my phone I have lost 6.2 pounds and I am now at my starting weight for the competition. We still have a week and a half … I may have a chance at winning this! It is pretty sad most of us are just under (within 1 pound) or over our starting weight. The idea behind it was motivation obviously that did not work.

Feeling Desperate

Yesterday I weighed in at work I am at 178, still 2.6 pounds over my starting weight in May. I don't see a win in my near future since I will have to lose 2.6 to even get to a positive %. So when I got home last night I got on the Internet and googled "How to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks" and the famous Cabbage Soup Diet popped up. I read all the reviews, watched the YouTube videos, wrote out my shopping list and was ready to head to the store...

But here I sit because it just hit me that this cabbage soup diet is dangerously low in calories and nutrients. Yes it is full of veggies, fruit but where is the needed protein, fat and carbs. From what I have learned all those are needed while moderation is always key cutting them out completely would not be the healthily way to go nor would it be an answer to my weight struggles. More than likely I could lose the promised 10-17 pounds on this crazy and extreme diet but how fast would I gain them back?? I would bet pretty quick causing more frustration.

I will keep all the items listed on my shopping list because after all it is all fruit and vegetables but I will also add my go to low fat and calories items such as egg beaters, sandwich thins, yogurt, ground turkey, skim milk etc....

Now that I have accepted I am not going to win this competition I am about 95% focused on my goal of getting back down to my Weight Watcher goal of 150 and hopefully I can do that by March 2012. I would like to say 100% focused but there is still a bowl of Halloween candy in this house and those Tootsie Rolls are screaming my name!!

Remember Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

Seeing nothing ....

Seeing very little results is getting frustrating .... I have been eating great, tracking everything I eat and working out at least 3 sometimes 4-5 days a week and NOTHING!! I did take measurements and have lost a whopping 1.5 inches. I have to be doing something wrong and I can't figure it out. Like I said in my last post I am not following the Weight Watcher program and maybe that is my problem. To be honest I hate the new points plus program. I cant seem to get used to the change and got discouraged along time ago.

Our next weigh in at work in this Friday so I must avoid all the candy the kids get tonight and work my butt off literally or I will be just giving my money to my competition! Which might I add the people are in 1st and 2nd place are guys.... is that even fair??

I am so sore from my workout on Saturday morning but no pain no gain right??

Last published almost 2 years ago.... HOW SAD IS THAT!!

It seems silly to post on a blog that has very few followers but in the last few weeks I have enjoyed reading my old posts and seeing the pictures from a few years back. I need to think of this as a journal where I share my family's fun and adventures instead of something others will read. Since I have gotten sucked into the world of Facebook and share my pictures and family updates I just got away from blogging all together. I need to remember it will always be here for me to come back to and enjoy. My dear friend reminded me that I have a lot going on in my life that I can journal, document and share.

I noticed that most of my previous postings were about my weight loss journey and here I am again on the same journey since I allowed myself to gain 25 pounds! BLAH I am currently involved in yet another weight loss competition at work, I suggested it almost 4 monthsago in hopes of motivating myself to get my behind in gear and sadly I am currently in dead last place! We still have about 6 weeks left and that is plenty of time for me to catch up and possibly even come in 1st or 2nd.I have my mind made up that I am not going to finish this thing in last place.I reactivated my YMCA membership and have been using a pretty cool app on my phone to track my calories and water intake. Although I absolutely believe in it I am not following the Weight Watcher program but as soon as I get to my goal weight I will go back to the meetings for free. Our next weigh in is this Friday…..Stay tuned!
