A Quick Update …

Since I started using the "Lose It" app on my phone I have lost 6.2 pounds and I am now at my starting weight for the competition. We still have a week and a half … I may have a chance at winning this! It is pretty sad most of us are just under (within 1 pound) or over our starting weight. The idea behind it was motivation obviously that did not work.

Feeling Desperate

Yesterday I weighed in at work I am at 178, still 2.6 pounds over my starting weight in May. I don't see a win in my near future since I will have to lose 2.6 to even get to a positive %. So when I got home last night I got on the Internet and googled "How to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks" and the famous Cabbage Soup Diet popped up. I read all the reviews, watched the YouTube videos, wrote out my shopping list and was ready to head to the store...

But here I sit because it just hit me that this cabbage soup diet is dangerously low in calories and nutrients. Yes it is full of veggies, fruit but where is the needed protein, fat and carbs. From what I have learned all those are needed while moderation is always key cutting them out completely would not be the healthily way to go nor would it be an answer to my weight struggles. More than likely I could lose the promised 10-17 pounds on this crazy and extreme diet but how fast would I gain them back?? I would bet pretty quick causing more frustration.

I will keep all the items listed on my shopping list because after all it is all fruit and vegetables but I will also add my go to low fat and calories items such as egg beaters, sandwich thins, yogurt, ground turkey, skim milk etc....

Now that I have accepted I am not going to win this competition I am about 95% focused on my goal of getting back down to my Weight Watcher goal of 150 and hopefully I can do that by March 2012. I would like to say 100% focused but there is still a bowl of Halloween candy in this house and those Tootsie Rolls are screaming my name!!

Seeing very little results is getting frustrating .... I have been eating great, tracking everything I eat and working out at least 3 sometimes 4-5 days a week and NOTHING!! I did take measurements and have lost a whopping 1.5 inches. I have to be doing something wrong and I can't figure it out. Like I said in my last post I am not following the Weight Watcher program and maybe that is my problem. To be honest I hate the new points plus program. I cant seem to get used to the change and got discouraged along time ago.

Our next weigh in at work in this Friday so I must avoid all the candy the kids get tonight and work my butt off literally or I will be just giving my money to my competition! Which might I add the people are in 1st and 2nd place are guys.... is that even fair??

I am so sore from my workout on Saturday morning but no pain no gain right??

It seems silly to post on a blog that has very few followers but in the last few weeks I have enjoyed reading my old posts and seeing the pictures from a few years back. I need to think of this as a journal where I share my family's fun and adventures instead of something others will read. Since I have gotten sucked into the world of Facebook and share my pictures and family updates I just got away from blogging all together. I need to remember it will always be here for me to come back to and enjoy. My dear friend reminded me that I have a lot going on in my life that I can journal, document and share.

I noticed that most of my previous postings were about my weight loss journey and here I am again on the same journey since I allowed myself to gain 25 pounds! BLAH I am currently involved in yet another weight loss competition at work, I suggested it almost 4 monthsago in hopes of motivating myself to get my behind in gear and sadly I am currently in dead last place! We still have about 6 weeks left and that is plenty of time for me to catch up and possibly even come in 1^st or 2^nd.I have my mind made up that I am not going to finish this thing in last place.I reactivated my YMCA membership and have been using a pretty cool app on my phone to track my calories and water intake. Although I absolutely believe in it I am not following the Weight Watcher program but as soon as I get to my goal weight I will go back to the meetings for free. Our next weigh in is this Friday…..Stay tuned!

I have fallen off the Weight Watchers wagon and can’t seem to find my way back on. I still workout several times a week but I am not accountable for what I put in this hole in my face!

Yum Twizzlers… sure… oh M&M they sound tasty... and Mexican food is killing me!!

WAKE UP LAURIE ... WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!

I think being a lifetime member is harder than trying to lose the weight because I don’t have a goal to achieve. I understand the goal of lifetime is to maintain but without having to face the scale every week makes it alot easier to slip up. I know I am ultimately the only one can that make sure that I stick to this. When I reached my lifetime goal I said that it had changed my life... well I am not so sure about it. I see myself going back to the same old habits.

You know what.... I think just typing this is enough motivation to jump back on and grab a hold of the reins! I think I am ready for another wild ride.

*** I plan to weigh in tomorrow for the 1st time in July, I am scared... Wish me luck because I need it***

We made the trip the Crystal Cove but the waves were huge the lifeguards were saying 10-12 feet (you really can't tell from the pictures ), plus there was very little beach so when the tide kept getting closer and closer to our blankets we had to come up with a better plan. Needless to say that beach trip only lasted about 30 mins. Jodi came to the rescue and called her in laws who have a great back yard and salt water pool!! We were able to stay cool and have a ton of fun!! Thank you Jodi and Ruby for sharing your day with me and the kids.

Carter with his Preschool Diploma. I have such mixed emotions about him starting Kindergarten. He is my last "baby" and it just reminds me how fast my kids are growing up. All 3 of my kids went to Redlands Day Nursery, going there has been part of my daily routine for most of the last 10 years. I have watched teachers come and go, some have taught all 3 of my kids. It is more than Carter going to a new school, it is leaving the old school behind. Does this make sense to anyone else or have I lost my mind.

Now these two.. Carter and Braden... They are best of friends one hour and worst of enemies the next, they are DOUBLE TROUBLE for Mrs. Sandra but she also loves them to pieces. We will miss everyone and everything about Redlands Day Nursery!!

**Even the funky smell in the hallway that for some reason Kennedie loves... but she also loves the smell of the gym at the YMCA.. weird I know**

I have been looking for something to post for a few weeks (notice the date of my last post), sometimes I think my life is not as interesting as others and their blog posts. But Ashley reminded me that this is a way to journal my life. When I got back from lunch today I see this little guy on my chair....

After working the front desk for 4 hours and being one of the last days of the month, I was alittle on the edge. I just LOVE one of my coworkers (who shall remain nameless) more than she knows, so I wanted to say THANK YOU, for today and everyday you make me smile! This made my day!!

I am now a Weight Watchers LIFETIME MEMBER.

The best benefits of a lifetime member are #1 it will keep me motivated to stay on track with my new lifestyle & I no longer have to pay to weigh in or attend the meetings (as long as I stay within 2 pounds of my goal weight).

It took a little bit longer than a year but it was SO worth the wait.

We got SO close to our goal of $1000, we were able to raise $957 this year. and with the economy right now we thought that was pretty good. Thanks to all who donated.

Run Through Redlands 2009

I just noticed I have been MIA for a while and my blog still have shamrocks on it! So I have a few things to post.

On 4/19/09 The kids and I with a few friends completed the Run Through Redlands.
Matthew and Kennedie did the 5k and I did my 1st 10k. We all did great!!

I know it may seem to some repetitive but I just want to recap that last

I can not even explain how much better I feel emotionally and physically. It is a great feeling of accomplishment. And to be honest I am not sure I have ever felt that way about MYSELF until now. For me it's not just about the pounds but that I have changed my family's life. From what I am told I have inspired alot of people and that is a really great feeling. But I want to take this time to say THANK YOU to everyone who got the 51 weekly texts on Saturday morning, who encourage me when the scale wasn't, for listening to points this and points that, for participating with me in the 3 races I have done in the last year and most of all for all the wonderful compliments. I owe alot of thanks to my mom because it was her idea to start Weight Watchers. But most importantly Matt and the kids, without their support and encouragement I am not sure I could have stayed with it this long. For any of you reading this that may what to change you life for the better... I urge to start NOW, make the commitment for YOU and remember this

My weight watcher goal is to be 150 pounds...well yesterday I weighed in at 150.8 and my leader as awesome as she is says "You've made goal" I responded with "I still need to lose .8" Then she wanted to know if I was really going to argue with her over .8 WELL HECK NO!!! So I am starting my 6 weeks of maintenance then will make lifetime if I am no more that 2 pounds above my goal weight. And the best part is that I will go for FREE!!! Although my personal goal is still to lose 5-10 pounds going for is fine with me.

My mother in law works at this bakery and she asked Carter what kind of cake he wanted (meaning design because they do some really cool cakes) and he asked for a cheesecake with fresh blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. Couldn't have been a simple chocolate cake.

We were all so glad he did because it was D'LISH!! and he didn't even like it go figure!! He just ate the berries.

On to his gifts he loved all of them but really this was his favorite by far. Thank You Leah, Edwin and Daniel!!

***SIDE NOTE*** That sticker says Happy Birthday to me and he wore that thing ALL DAY!!

Now I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't work as well as it does on TV but.... It does!!! They are pretty dang good and they are a quick treat... we had them on Saturday with sausage in the center then last night with fresh berries and powered sugar on top. YUMMO... Anyone know how many points a Pancake Puff would be! lol

While 2 of those would really be for me in the kitchen it would make his birthday if he got them. I am torn!! HELP

Bitter Sweet...

I did the Highland YMCA 5k run yesterday, the hills were alot harder than I remember (I walked it 5 years ago... 8 months pregnant with Carter).
My High School friend Jennifer and I have been running a few times a week to get ready for this one. Our goal was to improve ours times from our last run (Both 31 minutes plus). Here is a picture of us before the run.

I had set a personal goal to run it in under 30 minutes

The bitter sweet part is that my time was 30.02. Yes I ran it faster and that was what I set out to do BUT I really wanted to be under 30 minutes... I MISSED it by 3 seconds!!! I have NEVER been a runner and running 3.1 miles for fun is a great accomplishment. Jennifer ran it faster this time 30.44. Also meeting our goal!! I am pretty dang proud of US!

I am not sure what or when my next run will be but I look forward to training and getting stronger and faster. Matt and Matthew now want to run a 5k, maybe we will all do the Run Through Redlands together on 4/19/2009. I have been saying I want to run the 10k that day, but after each 5k I do; I can't imagine adding 3 more miles to it. And the hills of the Sunset loop in Redlands... ummm seriously rethinking that one.

I can not express how hard the holidays are while you are trying to eat right and exercise. Too cold to run... too busy to get to the gym when you want... too much good but not good for you food around all the time. I am not sure what my body is doing but I have gained then lost every week for 7 weeks now. I wish it would just understand what I am trying to do for it and cooperate. I am very lucky to have a great support system around, encouraging me every step of the way. My friends, coworker and family. It just think it's funny that Carter stops to ask how many points his strawberry milk is. Just tonight we made BLT's and Kennedie thought I was sneaking an extra piece of bacon and she started to scold me but I had already accounted for it in my points. And MAN was it good.... I can't remember the last time I had some. Matt has started going to the gym with me and that is a time that I have really enjoyed. I hope to run a 5k with him in the near future. I am running my next one on 1/25 for the Highland YMCA. My last one that I was supposed to post pictures about (forgot the camera) I finished in 31 minutes, I hope to improve that time. I WILL post pictures of this one.

This is what I look like 50.8 pounds lighter

Losing has slow down so I had to kick it up a notch. I have started spin class and I love it!! I am hoping it will better prepare me for Muddy Buddy next year. I am also running a 5k on Sunday. It starts and ends at the U of R and it is for such a great cause. Fighting Childhood cancer with the Redlands Firefighters Association and The Candlelighters of the Inland Empire. Check back for pictures and details of that soon.

Don't make reservation and plan to stay here ...

Or at least don't plan to stay at the location you made your reservation for because they will DOUBLE BOOK your RESERVED room.

Since Muddy Buddy started so early we made reservation several weeks in advance and upon arrival the night before this is what occurred...

Me- "Hi we are here to check in"

The guy behind the counter- "We are booked"

Me- "Oh we're good we have reservations"...

The guy behind the counter- " Oh I'm sorry but we double booked"

Angi- "So because people showed up before us, you gave our room away!!"

The guy behind the counter- "um uh um uh.... we can send you to Chino Hills... It's only 15 mills away"

To us Chino Hills seemed so close to home. And if that was our only options what choice did we have? IDIOTS!!!

In the end we had to drive from San Dimas to Chino Hills "Which is only 15 miles away". To the participants of the race (that already had to wake up early to be to the race on time) that said we were going to have to wake up even early... like 4:30 AM!! and they "Took care of the cost".

Well THANK YOU very much but I will never recommend

Muddy Buddy 2008

There were alot of crazy costumes, we agreed to just come up with cute matching outfits. The socks saved our legs in the mud pit. We only ended up with a few scrapes and cuts.

Here we were going to get in line, it was almost time for our wave to start.

Details.... Details...
I started on the bike, Angi Running; there were some very steep hills both up and down, on the down hills I was off the bike with the brakes on and still had to run because it was so steep the bike was going so freaking fast!! Each leg was about 1.4 miles. Within the 1st leg I had to carry the bike through a small section of the lake (nice soggy squishy shoes for the rest of the race), the 1st obstacle was about 6 ft rock wall with a cargo net on the other side.

Then had to run to the 2nd obstacle which was a series of bars that you had to go over, under and then over (we saw a glimpse of each other here). I think at this point I was thinking.... WHY and WHO would ever sign up to do this?? NEVER AGAIN

From there I got on the bike and rode to the 3rd obstacle that was balance beams. Which were very hard with legs that were burning and felt like they were made of Jello.

Then ran (Angi passed me on the bike because at that point of the leg we were on the street and it was a fast downhill ride for her) to the 4th obstacle which was a huge inflatable slide that you had to climb a cargo net then slide down (that was fun).

After that I rode to the final obstacle … The Mud Pit. It was perfect because right at the end I caught up to Angi and we got to the final area together.

We were so happy to be done

I think I was saying "Did we really just do that in...... 1 hour 12 minutes and 18 seconds"

YES WE DID!!!

And YES WE WILL do it next year!!

Maybe a little faster.

Since I am getting closer to my goal of losing 65 pounds (I am only one pound away from losing 50). People ask me how much I have lost and how much more I plan to lose. The majority of the responses are the same. “You’ll be skin and bones” or “You’ll look sick”. But looking at myself I know I can defiantly stand to lose those 16 more pounds or maybe even more. Since I am doing Weight Watchers I had to set a "Goal Weight" and they look at your height as the way to determine your weight range, I set my goal at 1 pound under the highest weight for my height but looking at my BMI it will only take 9 pounds to get into the "Healthy" range, I wonder why it's not the same amount. Should I go for what WW says or my BMI... Help me out... What are your opinions of setting a weight loss goal?

Thanks Shelbi and Jay for Matthew and Kennedie's, they have had their passes for months now and have gone with my friends Ruby & Jodi , and a few times with their Dad's family. I have to say I was getting a bit jealous! So we just got ours a few weeks ago.

We have already been 3 times in the last 2 weeks and are looking so forward to all the trips that are ahead of us.

I know that weight lose slows down as you get closer to your goal, but I don't like it!! It look me 8 weeks to lose 5 pounds. So very frustrating but now that I have done it, it is on to the next five and the five after that. Only 19.4 pounds to go to reach my final goal, lets hope it doesn't take me 32 weeks to get there. Especially since it only took me 30 weeks to get here.

I couldn't help but get emotional this morning as I watched the news, heard the names of those that were lost being read, and joined in the moment of silence. My heart is with those families who lost their loved ones on this day 7 years ago. It seems so hard to believe that it has been 7 years since the horrible attack on our country. In the weeks leading up to today there have been several specials on TV some were interviews of family members who lost someone on 9-11, it was very hard to listen to the kids talk about the parents they lost. One we watched was about the people that were supposed to be on Flight 93 but for various reasons didn't make it to the airport that morning, they had an angel watching over them. As I watched those shows I thought about how grateful everyone should feel to be Americans. One of my very favorite songs says it all.

I am so excited!!! Matt saw that Best Buy had them in stock and snagged one for us!!

Although I am not sure what to think about my Wii age being 50 (I am going to re-test that tonight) I am WAY excited about actually being able to find one!! Have you ever been so excited you couldn't sleep; like on the 1st day of school or when you know you are going to Disneyland? That is how my night was, tossing and turning. When my alarm went off at 5:00, without hitting snooze I got up and "played" for 40 minutes. I did a few hula hoop sessions, ran unlocking a few longer courses and ended with yoga stretches. I was breathing heavy and sweating like crazy. So to me it was a workout!! I can't wait to "play" some more!! I know I can’t cut out all my other workouts but it will switch things up and make working out a little but more fun. So for anyone thinking about getting one (if you can get your hands on one) DO IT!!!

Today was the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year. The summer break went by so fast this year; but the kids we ready to go back. I now have a 7th grader at Cope Middle School and he is too cool for a full body shot.

FOR 2 DAYS!! Since I decided to sign up for Muddy Buddy I have stepped up my arm workouts a bit, I have read that several of the obstacles require a lot of arm strength such as cargo nets and monkey bars. When I was a kid I was a master on the monkey bars, tried it again this weekend.. I mean how hard could it be right? WRONG... I was able to cross 4 bars.....Not for times...... 4 bars!

Technically still 2 sizes lost but I was able to buy a cute jean skirt that was a size 11/12 and fitting in to clothes I have not been able to in years. I used to think that it was pretty sad that I have been hanging onto those clothes, but now I am so glad I did!!!

I am so LOVED!!! I will be celebrating my 30th birthday on 8/25. My friends and family got together and plan a girls night to celebrate with me. With every one's busy summer schedules they planned it for last Saturday. I was just told to be available between 2 and 6. When the clock slowly but surly rolled to 2:00, I was able to go outside; where I was greeted by 10 of the best woman in the world and a limo. We all piled into the limo and with them giving me no info we proceeded to our destination. We arrived at Joe's Crab Shack , which is one of the funnest places to go for any occasion.

I know they lost last night but Matt and I still had a great time. We had great seats courtesy of Anheuser-Busch, I am so glad Matt is such a hard worker. He was given them for being the best end loader driver. Our seats were 7 rows above the Indians dugout.

We got there early enough the watch batting practice.

And also had plenty of time to see all the memorabilia. Here is the 2002 World Championship Trophy.

I have been wanting an outdoor fire pit for a while now and I am very HAPPY to report that for my early birthday gift my parents gave me one. YIPPEE!!! We could not wait to enjoy it. After a full day at the Yucaipa Regional Park ( forgot to take pictures, sorry) we came home ate dinner then started a fire and the kids jumped in our pool.

Matt helped with the assembly of the smores.. and ate a few in the process

Matthew enjoyed one and he was done, Kennedie had her fair share ;o) & I lost count of the amount of marshmallows that Carter roasted for everyone else to enjoy. He is like me, I love making the smores but I don't really care for them, never have. WAY TOO Sweet for me.

We look forward to all the fun this fire pit will bring this summer, fall and winter.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of Grandma Lola's (Matt's Grandma) passing.

Dear Grandma Lola-
We miss you so much!! But most all all we miss your smile, your great advice & your unconditional love for all of us. You were the one that always held the family together. Wish you were here because family has drifted apart, it saddens me knowing that it would have never happened if you were here and had anything to do with it.

Some days we think... if Grandma was here what would she say, like when Carter is running in the house or bouncing on Grandpas bed. Or when Matthew is making Kennedie scream in the pool.

Everyday that passes we miss you more and more. We know Grandpa misses you the most. We are hoping he can find some comfort today.

One year ago today one of my friends from high school Anamarie had to say goodbye to her sweet four year old son Gabriel Edward Weems after suffering from a brain tumor called a Chordoma. As I think about her today I can remember almost every detail of her updates and blogs but what sticks with me the most is the last few moments she had with him. As she held and rocked him for the last time she sang to him.

We all had such a fun time. Matt went at 6 am to get shade under a wing of one of the large planes. And Thank Goodness that he did. It was HOT!!
This was our 1st air show so kids weren't sure what to expect but they were all pretty excited.

March of Dimes walk 2008!

I have to say we were all nervous... 6 MILES... seemed like it would takes hours and with the weather at 90 DEGREES we thought we just might die. But we didn't we made it in just under 2 hours.

Ruby, Jodi and I about half way done and still looking just as cute as when we started.

And one of my great friends/coworker Trisha did the walk. We met up a few times through out the walk.

I am so glad that we do this every year. Our team of 3 was able to raise $875. Our goal is to get to the $1000 next year.

This week I wanted to try something different and see if it would help. I am sure you have all heard that ads... "New research shows that calcium, in particular milk and dairy products can be an aid to weight loss." I had a great loss this week and I want to believe that "Milk .... it does a body good". I have gotten in to the habit of having just 8oz of skim milk in the morning and another 8oz just before bed. That has worked for me and it is so filling. Not to mention the 6 days of working out and 8.5 mile bike ride. Something is working and I am not going to change it now. BUT I also wanted to share another bit of motivation for me has been my kids. Carter so innocently looked and me and said ... while demonstrating mind you..... "Why does your butt shake when you walk" I had to laugh but WOW!! He is 4 ....... my question is what must others think??

So all this hard work is paying off!! 11 Pounds gone and I am still enjoying every minute of this new found LIFESTYLE!! No more diets for me. As I begin my 5th week and have had such success, I look forward to this summer and be able to feel comfortable in shorts, and a bathing suit. I still have a LONG WAY TO GO until I reach my goal but the road doesn't seem so long or hard. I have to give myself props for the two 6.5 miles bike rides I have done this week. I enjoy to view of beautilful Redlands, the great homes, parks, RHS and of course the U of R. I hope to work up to more than that but for now that is great workout.

I am very proud to share that today is my parents 41st Wedding Anniversary!! For all of you that know my parents I am sure you would agree that there are VERY few times when they are apart, whether it be one of the kid's games, a family gathering or just a trip by our house. There are always together. They share the same interest and crafts... yes crafts my dad will do them with my mom and I think that is so stinking cute!!

I just want to take this time to say..... Thank You I appreciate everything you have done for me and my family. Your love inspires me! Looking back to when I was a child I can always remember all the little things that you did for each other that meant the most. All stickers and note on your head board. The little trinkets or gifts that just simply meant I love you. I look forward to the day I can say that Matt and I have been married for 41 years! You have taught me that love is not easy or perfect but as long as you love unconditionally your love will remain as strong as the day you said I DO!!

My wonderful friend Jodi and her mom Janet treated Myself and my friend Ruby to a GREAT birthday dinner at THE MELTING POT. It was YUMMY and a lot of FUN! I was not sure what to expect at first, being my 1st experience but I was very pleased and I am looking for an occasion to return! In my opionion I don't think that many men would like it being that you have to cook your own meat and wait 2 minutes for each bite. I think it is the perfect place for a girls night out! Matthew Started 6Th Grade @ Cope Middle School, my old stomping ground. He seems a little nervous when I dropped him off, Just got a "Bye Mom, love you" with no hug... TOO Cool for that!! As you can see from the picture I wasn't even aloud to get to close to the school grounds. So I gave him his lunch money($5 bill) and set him on his way. So last night when I was asking about the 1st day and what he ate for lunch.. thinking they still had to wait at the outside windows. Nope it is cafeteria style. So he was going to buy his PowerAde. Put his $5 bill in machine and expected to get change. So it was a good thing that I made him take an apple, hot Cheetos and a bottled water. And he did not even find an adult to get the money back. Then he was telling me about a fellow classmate that spoke very little English. During class Matthew offered him the seat in front of him and the little boy said "Friend" and Matthew said "OK". He is the sweetest 10 year old boy I know! So while he was telling me he started to cry uncontrollably, because at lunch the little boy motioned for Matthew to sit with him and Matthew said he walked with his frineds to get his drink and then after all upset forgot to go back and at the end of lunch saw him still sitting alone. I told him to just invite him with him and his group of friends. I can't wait for the report tonight.

Kennedie started 3rd Grade remaining at McKinley, her only report was that her teacher "Would not even let us color when we were done with our work, we had to go to the back of the class and READ!" I guess 3rd grade is when you start to become more responsible and she is not grasping that yet. She did say that she wanted more High School Musical stuff because ALL the others girls had watches, folders, etc. So I guess the messenger bag and shirt were not enough! Was I ever this difficult at 8 years old? I really don't think so!

Before now I have always shopped at Stater Bros and Vons on occasion but I have started shopping at TJs and I LOVE the small store atmosphere, the service is always friendly and helpful, they really do have tasty foods, I have found that they are most of the time cheaper than the other stores. I have always thought because they carry gourmet products that they are more expensive and of course if that is what you are buying then you will pay a pretty penny. Some of my great buys have been the bottled water, prepacked produce, fruit, cereal (Joe's O's same as Cherrios) pasta and pasta sauces. As you are reading this you may think I am nuts oh and by the way TJs NUTS are GREAT too!! LOL

HELLO MY NAME IS TROUBLE is right!! This is how he entered the house after he had been playing at the neighbor's house. I am not sure why he made this face when Matt wanted to take his picture. But I think it was the perfect picture to share Carter's personality. He never gets into things here at home but while he is with his little friends they have gotten into, sugar,lotion, flour & MUD!!! He could not stop laughing when we showed him a mirror... he was in tears from giggling. Which started all of us... it was hilarious!!

Summer is here!! And I could not be more excited.... I guess that is why I am and always will be a CALIFORNIA GIRL!! I love the summer months.... Beach Trips, BBQ with family and friends, swimming and oh so much more!! I am looking forward to the 100+ weather, 5Th Annual Miller Family 4Th of July BBQ, Our 5Th Anniversary trip to Newport Beach, Beach trip w/ Ruby, Trip to Las Vegas to see Megan, Sea World, A few weddings, and FOOTBALL/CHEER!!! Not sure if we will have a free weekend but that is the way I like it!

Working for the Housing Authority I have often wondered where people come up with the names for their children. I am not talking down on anyone but today I ran across a file with the children's names as Africa, Egypt, Cairo & England!! I know where they got the names but WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!! OK I know that I have 2 kids with the last names of Presidents but I can not tell you how many times I have heard their names used which to me says they are becoming common.

With the end of the school year near..... one of the activity that the kids looked so forward to was the Jog-A-Thon!! Matthew looks trilled but how would you look if you just ran about 17 laps in 35 min!! It really was such a fun time, with a DJ, Friends and cool water, which turned into a water fight!! I can't believe that in two days I will have 5th Grader (headed to Cope Middle School) and a 3rd Grader!! How did this happen... WOW Time sure flies!!

For some reason once a year I decide to cut my hair this year I went shorter than normal. and I guess going short was the thing to do because Matt always cutts Carter's hair but this time thought that he didn't use a guard the last time. Hello all this is my first and it may take a while to figure out what the heck I am doing. I am not the best when it comes to computers.
A little update: My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years. We have 3 beautiful children Matthew-10, Kennedie-8 and Carter-3.

They keep me busy, being involed in Football/ Cheer and Baseball. I look forward to updating this and we will see how I do.
